On all things that interest me, Benjamin Link

About Benjamin

I am a software developer with a MS and CS degrees from the University of Colorado (2009, 2011). I was lucky to have spent many years in the beautiful refuge that is Boulder, CO. My Master's Degree research was with Professor Michael Mozer on the topic of Machine Learning and I received my Master's in Computer Science on August 6, 2011. In my free time I enjoy coding challenges, playing softball, playing ultimate frisbee, playing video games, cooking and reading.

I've just moved to San Antonio, Texas, and I have recently started working for USAA as a software developer. If you want to know more about me please take a look at my resume, and head over to my about me page by clicking the image on the right

Game Analyses

I really, really enjoy playing video games. I've found that games are unique and have then own personalities. Everyone can easily see what games have the best graphics, the most blood, or the greatest art. Even some people can see which games have the smoothest frame rates, or the games that have the best story, or even the games that have the best tempo. I think what's missing in these 'analyses' is the non-obvious breakdown of a game. Just like a piece of art, or a great literary work, video games have subtle hints that define their personalities, that go beyond a simple description of features. I've reviewed some of my favorite games with in depth analysis, click the Diablo link on the right to see them!
